Before you ask it - Maybe she's already answered it.

Q. Why does your content have minimum subscription periods and why don't you offer discounts right away? Because content requires two things - a dedication from the talent to provide it and dedication from the radio station to carry it. I've supplied demos for people to hear real samples of what to expect so when stations purchase it's a dedicated purchase not a trial period.

Q. What male voice compliments yours if I wanted a combined male and female image? Definitely without question Eric Potts. Eric has all the same character types and ranges as I do and he's a voice actor not just voice talent. He's not limited to one style or one way of doing imaging. He's by far one of the most talented non-union male voice actors I've met. To buy our voices together go here. For more options see my Male Voices area.

Q. How do you come up with those funny commercials? Well first, I do have training in comedy writing but if I say something to cause my partner to double over laughing I quick write it down or record it. She's my sounding board for the line between funny and "Man that's stupid!" If she doesn't laugh - honey it ain't funny and don't say it on-air!

Q. Should I be able to sing to do voice work? No not really. But, singing lessons help you learn breathing and breathing is essential for proper voicing - you control your breath from your diaphragm when you sing - you do the same when you're voicing if you're voicing properly. Besides if you're failing miserably at your reading you can always sing them something cheerful (smirk)

Q. What's the best advice you have for a person who wants to break into voice acting? Get an Agent and get acting lessons. Doing anything involving voice work - radio imaging, narration, dj gigs, requires that you to play a part. People who think this biz is all ego don't last long. Do yourself and the people who expect you to be able to feel the words a favour and get some acting classes under your belt. There's nothing worse than a voice actor who can't act. And if you're not naturally funny - take some comedy writing courses.

OTHER QUESTIONS

Q. Are you the sexiest voice you know? Nooooo, my voice is trained to be that way on demand. My Mother has the sexiest voice I've ever heard in a natural unrehearsed voice. At 70 she was being asked out over the phone making restaurant reservations. I should be so lucky :)

Q. How do you keep that many Character Voices organized? I have a library for each character I do. When there's a request for one of them I play that character's voice over and over until it's in my head again. If I can hear a voice I can do the voice.

Q. How do you know when a Character voice is going to be funny? When children laugh or if I pop one into a DJ gig while I'm live and people can't stop laughing. If they give me that odd "have you lost your mind???" look, I know not to do it again.

Q. What do you use to voice with? For my mixing boards, I'm a Behringer nut. I love everything they make. For microphones I'm a huge Synthesizer fan but I use 3 different CAD GSX series mics when I only need a quick take. 3 mics gives a massively full range. For digital mixing I use Sound Forge, Steinberg® CuBase LE Software, and Adobe Audition in my own studio. In the pro studio I use three different BOSS BR-1180CD 10 Track Digital Recorders and then mix it all together again with Sound Forge for pro studios. My earphones are Bose quiet comfort high definition digital and my speakers are Bose. My favorite DJ chair is from Ikea and preferred hosting service to get my work to clients is Internet Radio Pros. I drink Uncle Ho's Green Tea while I'm voicing. Remember HOT soothes, cold closes up. Can I have my endorsement cheques now?
